Archive for August, 2011

Recently, I decided to catch up on Effortless Style a blog by Camila Pavone. While searching I saw this photo of her office.

found here

You may recognize the fabric from my folding screens. After some digging I found this post about reupholstering her loveseat.

We have a loveseat that needs to be reupholstered (you’ve seen it here, here and here) and I had considered covering it in Wonderland Pearl, but decided to use it on my folding screen instead. I love the fabric. I’ve been thinking about what else I could cover in it.

I’m still considering adding another panel to each section of my folding screens. I could go for more fabric in my room, yet a loveseat and a folding screen is a bit much.

Sarah Richardson ( we know I adore her) used it. Of course she did, because the fabric is awesome.

This photo is from Sarah 101. So far only two episodes have been shown on HGTV USA. The episode the fabric is seen is titled “Vibrant Living Room.” I was chaneling her. It’s a special talent.

Not really, but it sure looks like The Colonel Hoof-Hearted and I had a great time last weekend.

The Mister was driving me to Target (because I’m secretly an old lady and he’s my driver) and The Colonel likes car trips. While we waited at a light The Mister took the photos on his phone. The flash on his iPhone was awful bright – hence our squitty appearance. The Pig really struggled with keeping his eyes open and I love these photos.

You can now get through the rest of your week. If not, we’ll grab a drink with you.

WubbaNub what tha?

My girlfriend Jenn is having her baby today. She is one of many girls I know having a baby. During a baby shower for one of those girls the first gift unwrapped was a WubbaNub. I did not know what it was when it came out of the box. Thankfully, I didn’t react initally as the cooing and “Oh, I love those” quickly began. It’s basically a pacifier with a small stuffed animal attached to it.

The animal keeps the pacifier in the baby’s mouth.

Nobody seems concerned that this may cause excessive drooling or smother the child. However, that was my immediate response to it.

I would think you could make it. A beanie baby is likely not considered “baby friendly.” Here is their line:

This weekend is a sales tax holiday in Tennessee. While you are out purchasing school supplies Sharpies, glitter and electronics I encourage you to think of children that are in need of supplies. As you know, I was teacher.

The Nashville Rescue Mission has a school supply wish list for their Shelter for Women and Children. I encourage you to print the wish list and consider what items you are able to contribute. They need underwear to scientific calculators. Like you, I try to watch my pennies. However, I have no excuse to not purchase some supplies from the list. Though I’m quite busy this coming weekend, I’ll be in East Tennessee with my mother today and tomorrow, I will still go shopping for my list on Sunday. Of course, I encourage you to do the same.

Be good. Be safe. Be lovely.

Since you received a post on Tuesday, I figured why not treat you to one today. Then, you’ll receive something from my bounty everyday this week. What’s mine is yours.* So, here are some random thoughts for you to ponder.

This is the best use of $13.99 in awhile.

In the words of Ms. B I’m still “crazy in love” with Jonathan Adler’s Bond Console.

These shoes should get me out of my “flat funk.”

Image taken in our hall with my phone – sorry for the bad quality

They were purchased at a Ross Dress for Less in Oklahoma City. They were less than $20.00. I am very tall in them. I walked into the kitchen and realized we needed to clean the top of the vent.

The Mister purchased me this necklace.

He is a nice boy. It goes with everything. I get tons of compliments on it. While visiting a client every woman (seriously each one) said something about it.

Have you purchased or received anything new that you would like to tell us about? What’s your favorite track on Beyonce’s album? Have you been a Ross Dress for Less?

While searching my friend Craig’s list I found this “Mid-Century Modern Desk Designed by Raymond Loewy.”

I called the man but he hasn’t called me back. I woke up early Sunday morning to call him because it is great and reminds me of this. Additionally, I found this available and became even more excited about my Craigslist find. I’m sure someone has beat me to it.

This “China Cabinet” is available.

It’s the same as Jenny’s cabinets talked about here and here. However, there is only one and I’d need two.

Then, I found these two by the same seller. First, was “vintage retro futon.”

Second, “Danish mid century modern sofa bed.”

I like the first one better. The Mister and I don’t have anywhere for someone to crash. This need hasn’t presented itself but we may have guests. Someday. When I have a better kitchen and am not ashamed.

Now, please cross your fingers the man with the desk calls me back. Send the good ju-ju.

Call me…it is still available…call me…it is still available…

How does grilled cheese fit in, you ask?
