We returned from our cruise Saturday evening and I leave for Atlanta this week. Soon you will receive some cruise posts. However, this weekend was full of wash and repack, loving on The Colonel and prepping for where to
shop go in Atlanta. High on my list is Room and Board. Room and Board has been in business since 1980 and over 90% of their furniture comes from the United States.
I have been to their Chicago store and it confirmed my like of their pieces. Our current chairs are good but not great. They were were a bargain. However, The Mister and I have said we’ll replace them sometime in the future. Here are the contenders from Room and Board.
My favorite, the Shay Glider.
It comes stocked in Teal (seen above) which I like. I’m sure that is because our current chairs our teal, which has grown on me and I no longer want to slipcover them. However, there are 19 additional colors in vance fabric which is 90% cotton and 10% polyester velvet. Cutom upholstery is available – which includes leather and four vick fabric opitions which are 75% cotton and 25% acrylic fabric.
They have the Carter glider. It screams nursery to me with it’s rounded edges and it’s description refers to “late-night feedings.” I prefer the square lines of the Shay glider and not having late-night feedings.
Due to Carter’s baby intentions the fabric is durable and 100 % polyester microsuede.
Both Carter and Shay are swivel gliders, which works well for our living room. We would prefer the chairs to swivel. Gliding is extra. The Mister wouldn’t mind having it recline. The Juno recliner is my top choice.
It comes in nine shades of leather including the stocked leather seen above.
Shay is listed under recliners when it just swivels and comes with an ottoman.
Obviously, the Shay chair is brought up the most. I’m going to sit in it again and browse some more. After all, I plan to go to some other stores. Here are some other things I plan to hunt down:
Plus, I hope to go to Lewis and Sharon. I’m pretty sure I’m going to need a SUV rentral car.
