Saturday, I posted Trees Please in response to a trip to Lowes on Friday night. Friday night The Mister and I went to Lowes because looking for gnat spray is a very romantic date.
Who decided to spell gnat with a “g”? Lets make its spelling annoying too.
Gnats are what I get for trying to keep indoor plants alive.
On the way into the store The Mister points out that Lowes had started discounting their Christmas. I become filled with a mixture of dread and anticipation. He calmly walks towards bug spray and I practically run to the trees. I turn the corner and there is no white tree. A gentleman approaches me and asks if I need help – I’m sure because I’m pacing around. I say, “Do you have any white…” and he cuts me off to say, “No. They’re sold out all around.” I ask if I can find one online and he tells me only if I find a store with a tree. Then, he walks off. I slowly walk to the bug section and I’m more sad than I expected. I I wanted this tree more than I expected. The Mister sees my sadness and says, “They’re sold out?” I reply “yes” and get teary eyed. A tear may have escaped. To my defense, Friday was a particularly rough day for me.
Later in the evevning, I decide to take tree matters into my own hands and call Lowes’ Customer Service. A very nice lady states that she will have the manager of my local Lowes check the stock of other stores and see if he/she is able to have it sent to the store. (There is an acronym of this but I forgot it.) Then, Saturday morning I get the call that they have located a tree at a store approximately two hours away and that it shall arrive at my local store around the end of the week.
HOORAY! HOORAY! I thanked the man very much, silently forgave him for questioning “Is this a white tree?”, and did a dance around the living room. This dance is ridiculous and requires one not to be easily embarassed.
Here are some lovely white trees that my tree will be friends with:
