Think of me, as I start boot camp Tuesday morning at the horrific time of 5:45 a.m. My dears, this is an incredible feat for me.
When I signed up for boot camp I had to sign off on some rules. However, there were three that may be difficult for me. They are:
1. I agree that I will not consume alcohol during the month of Boot Camp.
I rarely consume alcohol. However, I’m the type that instantly wants something when told I cannot have it. I like having options.
2. I agree not to use foul language during boot camp.
This may be difficult for me. I am liable to drop a few dirty words when I’m tired and unhappy. Really, this has become an unflattering habit for me in my daily life.
3. I agree not to eat or say the words Twinkie, Donuts, Ho-Hos, Ding Dongs, or Cup Cake during boot camp.
The only thing I may have difficulty with is cupcakes. I may call someone a ho-ho (notice my difficulty with rule #2) but I wouldn’t eat that particular Hostess cake.
I’m going three days a week – I couldn’t bear the thought of five days a week. Also, I’m traveling this month and cannot to the complete camp. Therefore, I’m going three times this week and three times next week. However, I’m hoping this two week camp will do me some good.
Frankly, I’m worried. Terrified may be a better fitting word. I have been sick since Friday and I do not do well in the morning. However, I have committed to this and I desperately need a kick in the pants with adapting to and taking on healthier habits. My email to the trainer that leads the boot camp was almost sad, “I’m not in decent shape, nor would I consider myself an active person. Therefore, should I have some stepping stone to fitness before this?” Thankfully, he responded that this was a common question or concern but that I should be fine.
I’ll let you know if he lied or not.
