How are your New Year Resolutions going? It’s been a month and mine have inevitably failed. However, I’m trying to say that they were not real resolutions as I never wrote them down. One of my continuous goals is to be more “green.” About two years ago I worked very, very hard and convinced The Mister to let go of his beloved paper towels. We may have used one roll of paper towels during the past year. This was no easy feat.
Instead we use rags. Our rags consist of true kitchen towels, old wash cloths and his old t-shirts. We don’t use the old t-shirts as often, though we have a multitude of them. However, my main goal is stop using Scotch Brite pads. I may try the new line of Greener Clean Scotch Brite.
I’ll probably have these around, just to make the transition easier. I hope to only use brushes.
Here are some tips for using rags instead of paper towels:
- Use old washcloths
- Cut t-shirts into squares If you try to use them while in t-shirt form they can be hard to manage
- Wash them all on hot
